Jennifer Lopez He made an impressive public appearance after revealing that he suffered an injury while rehearsing to be a presenter of the American Music Awards 2025.
Lopez, 55, was seen arriving at a birthday celebration for John Kander In New York on Monday, May 19, with a light pink dress. That same night he was seen in a white set for a later party for John Kander in Ring Them Bells: Birthday celebration.
The exit occurred after Lopez suffered a facial injury. “So this happened,” Via Instagram Stories wrote earlier this month next to a photo that showed his swollen nose. “(During @amas essays).”
Lopez confirmed that he had to receive points, adding: “Thank you for sewing, Dr. Diamond. A week later and with a lot of ice, I am like new.”
Despite the health scare, Lopez is recovering and ready to act in the May 26 awards show. He is the fourth artist of music in history that presents the loves twice, following Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Pitbull.
“We are delighted to welcome Jennifer Lopez back as presenter of the American Music Awards,” said Dick Clark Productions CEO, Jay Penske, in a April statement. “Jennifer’s incredible talent and her incomparable presence on stage make her the ideal host for the show. We know that she will bring her unique energy to the official summer starting celebration.”
Lopez previously presented the awards in 2015.
“This was so long ago, but the energy in the room was electrifying,” he recalled during the 50th anniversary of the show in October 2024. “Winning a prize voted by fans is incredibly special because it comes directly from the people for whom you make music. It is simply a humble experience.”
Before getting the stage, Lopez started at the end of his divorce from Ben Affleck. The former couple married in July 2022 after rekindling her romance, previously were committed from 2002 to 2004. Lopez requested divorce two years later in August 2024.
“She was very in love with Ben, but sometimes love is not enough,” a source told Us Weekly About Lopez at that time. “Things came out in the best way and how they were supposed to be.”
Before this year, Affleck, 52, broke his silence about high profile separation when asked about GQ Why did he decided to participate in the Lopez documentary of 2024, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. The film was a complementary piece to his 2024 visual album, This is me … nowand included scenes where Affleck argued his relationship.
“There is a tendency to look at ruptures and want to identify root causes or something. But honestly … the truth is much more everyday than people would probably believe or be interesting,” he explained in March. “There is no scandal, nor soap opera, nor intrigue (about our divorce). The truth is, when you talk to someone, ‘hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no: ‘This is what happened.”
Affleck concluded: “It is simply a story about people trying to decipher their lives and relationships in which we all do it normally.”
