Judge allows Justin Baldoni to read messages from Blake and Taylor

Federal judge Lewis Liman authorized Justin Baldoni to review private messages between Blake Lively and Taylor Swift.

Liman said that only messages related to the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ can be reviewed or the legal dispute faced by the actors, and that the access will be covered by a protection order to avoid press leaks.

With this resolution, the Lively motion is rejected to protect their conversations with the 35 -year -old singer, according to documents obtained by The New York Post.

According to the judge, Justin Baldoni’s request is valid, since Blake Lively said that Taylor was aware of complaints about the work environment during the film’s filming.

Blake tried to protect that conversation and his legal team claimed that these messages were personal and that they had nothing to do with the movie.

They were even willing to deliver everything else, except that. In return, they asked Baldoni to share all their audiovisual material related to the film and all the communications mentioned in their demand; He rejected the agreement.

When did the legal dispute start?

The judicial battle began in December 2024, when Blake Luvely filed a formal complaint with the California Civil Rights Department accusing Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment on the set.

She also claimed that, by threatening to make her accusations public, she was the subject of a “sophisticated, coordinated and well -financed” reprisal plan.

A day later, the New York Times published an extensive investigation entitled “We can bury anyone: within a Hollywood discredit machinery”, which pointed to Baldoni’s public relations team for allegedly trying to damage the image of the actress.

On December 31, Lively filed a formal lawsuit against Baldoni, his Wayfarer studies and his public relations team.

Although in May of this year the Baldoni team quoted Taylor Swift as a witness, the citation was subsequently withdrawn. However, Lively’s legal team alleges that the real intention behind the insistence to obtain messages with the pop star is not to discover legitimate evidence, but to feed a media narrative to clean the image of Baldoni.

The Judge Liman, however, dismissed that objection and argued that “this concern does not justify to deny the Wayfarer parties the discovery of relevant evidence.”
