Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift compete in the American Music Awards

(Reuters) – Kendrick Lamar, Super Bowl poster head and Grammy awards winner, faces Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and other artists on Monday at the American Music Awards (AMA) in Las Vegas.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar has the largest number of nominations in ten categories. The red carpet will be broadcast live on the CBS from 0000 GMT and singer Jennifer López will be the presenter.

The winners of the AMAs are chosen by the public vote. The most important award, artist of the year, faces Kendrick Lamar with the pop superstar Taylor Swift, who is the artist who loves most, 40, in her career. In addition, the highest grossing tour in history has just finished.

Other candidates for artist of the year are Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Morgan Wallen, Billie Eilish, Zack Bryan and Sza.

“Not Like Us”, Kendrick Lamar’s song against Canadian rapper Drake, opts for the song award of the year. Drake has sued Universal Music Group for defamation. Kendrick Lamar performed “Not Like Us” during the Super Bowl in February and the song won five Grammys.

Among other Nominated for the Ama, Post Malone is nominated in eight categories, including the best male country artist and best country album for “F-1 Trillion.” He previously won in the rap/hip hop and pop/rock categories.

“Cowboy Carter” by Beyoncé, winner of the top award in the Grammy this year, is nominated for album of the year and best album Country. She is also nominated for best female country artist.

During the ceremony, Janet Jackson will receive the icon prize, an award for artists with world influence, and Rod Stewart will receive the award for a lifetime.
