‘Kiss me’ by Alejandro Sanz and Shakira is not torture – Jenesaispop.com

Now that the Chico-Chica duos are fashionable again thanks to the enormous success of ‘Die With a Smile’ by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, ‘Luther’ by Kendrick Lamar and SZA and -in less measure- ‘What i Want’ by Morgan Wallen and Tate McRAe, what options do Alejandro Sanz and Shakira have?
‘Kiss me, the theme that, 20 years later, has rejoined the couple of’ La Tortura ‘and’ I thank you, but no ‘, it is not the most innovative Afrobeat that may sound on the radio in 2025. It does not sound advanced as a production of Amaarae or lush as one of Tyla or Wizkid. It does not even give the feeling that the song has required eight composers and five producers to get to the market.
But who can doubt the potential of ‘Besame’, a perfectly pleasant and enjoyable production, because it could not be otherwise? Guided by a filtered electric guitar, relaxed percussions and an enclosure electronic sound, ‘Besame’ fulfills its function of proposing a different summer song that refreshes the Spanish radio. Both Shakira and Sanz feel vocally this most relaxed rhythmic context and the song is passed as a breeze.
Shakira, who has just recorded a success with another Afrobeat, ‘single’, is the best of collaboration again, while Alejandro Sanz leaves the step delivering his typical past rhymes back, such as “I wrote you this song and a list of pending things / The first is to make love you urgently / the second stay pa ‘always.” ‘Kiss me’, for now, has only reached the 61st position of Spotify Spain. Is there hope or does the success of ‘Torture’ smell?
‘Besame’ belongs to Alejandro Sanz’s new EP, published these days. In the ingeniously (no) entitled ‘And now what?’ (You know, Alejandro), in addition to Shakira, Manuel Turizo or Grupo Frontera collaborates.
