Kylie Jenner “didn’t know” how much money his beauty brand earned because he didn’t have the password of his account.
The 27 -year -old Telerreality star launched her company Kylie Cosmetics back in 2015 as Lip Kit By Kylie – which only sold a liquid lipstick set and lip eyeliner before changing her name and diversifying in other products – and has now confessed that she was stunned to discover that the line was so successful during the first year, when she was earning millions of dollars.
This was told to Dazed magazine: “I didn’t have the password of my Shopify account and I didn’t know how much money I was earning. I knew I was very successful, but I didn’t know it … It was not really what I wanted, and that’s how I sincerely sorry, for me it was not about money. For me it was a way to be creative and make others happy. A year later, I received the password of our account and I thought: passing? ‘”
The publication reported that the beauty brand entered 420 million dollars in the first 18 months, when the company only sold lip kits. The company was renamed Kylie Cosmetics in 2016 and now sells a complete line of beauty and skin care products.
The annual revenues of the brand were around 300 million dollars at the end of 2016 and Kylie sold a majority participation in the company to the Coty Beauty Giant in 2019 for a whopping 600 million dollars.
Kylie admitted that he is taking advantage of the tenth anniversary of the launch of his company to reflect on his success and “appreciate all incredible blessings.”
He added: “I approach the tenth anniversary of Kylie Cosmetics, and I have been thinking a lot about the beginning. With the success of my brand and the influence, I do not think I knew … I do not think I knew what I had when I had it. Looking back, I was so young and I had the world in my hands, and I still feel like that. I am trying to live the moment and appreciate all the incredible blessings in my life instead of waiting for 20 years.”
