Love and mystery: the BL series you can’t miss this year
With the arrival of the new year, fans of BL (Boys’ Love) series have the opportunity to immerse themselves in new stories that promise emotions, romance and unexpected twists. Here I present five new BL series to start the year with a lot of love and drama.
“Look at your love” In this Taiwanese drama, Shao Peng, played by Jin Yun, is a young man with hearing problems who dreams of working as a caregiver. His life takes an unexpected turn when he saves Zi Xiang, heir to a large company, played by Raiden Lin, from an attack. As thanks, Zi Xiang offers Shao Peng a job and accommodation while he recovers from his injuries. As Shao Peng integrates into Zi Xiang’s life, they both discover a world of acceptance and personal growth, highlighting the beauty of sign language and sincere love.
“Have mercy on me” Adapted from a novel by Sammon, this Thai series follows Thiu, a police officer who returns to his hometown to care for his sick mother. There he encounters a series of suspicious deaths that appear to be linked to euthanasia. Thiu, played by Krissanapoom Pibulsonggram, must confront complex moral dilemmas and his own past while investigating alongside the charismatic Dr. Kan, played by Tor Thanapob Leeratanakachorn. The series mixes elements of thriller and drama in a plot that will keep you guessing until the end.

“Your heaven” Teerak, an ever-smiling and friendly college student, played by Kong Kongpob Jirojmontri, finds himself trapped in a fake relationship with Muenfah, played by Thomas Teetut Chungmanirat, to avoid a persistent admirer. Although both are very different, their fake relationship begins to take on a reality in this light comedy that explores friendship, love and personal identity through a series of comical and endearing situations.
«Our Youth» Jin, a dedicated and lonely student, sees his world change when he meets Haruki, a bad boy with dark secrets. Set in a school setting, this Japanese series explores how two opposing worlds can find common ground through art and mutual understanding. The relationship between Jin, played by Motojima Junsei, and Haruki, played by Kamimura Kenshin, offers a deep exploration of the themes of loneliness, friendship, and young love.
«10 perfect lines» This Thai series offers three love stories intertwined across three generations of university students. From the complicated relationship between Arm and Arc to the complicated dynamic between Gun and Yotha, each story brings its own color and emotions to the “10 Liners” tapestry. With a focus on friendships as much as romance, the series is a testament to how interpersonal relationships can define and redefine our lives.
Each of these series promises to offer a unique mix of emotions, challenges and personal triumphs, perfect for fans of the BL genre looking to start the year with stories that move, challenge and entertain.
