The influencer and journalist María Amores has surprised many by sharing an unusual personal aspect in her environment. Through her social networks, the communicator sincerely declared: “One ‘strange’ thing about me: I go to mass (almost) every Sunday.”
Ion Aramendi’s wife explained that, although this practice is not common among her friends – “most of them wouldn’t go to mass even if they were paid” – for her it has become a significant tradition.
Through Instagram, María Amores detailed how her spirituality does not come from a traditional religious education. Her parents were not practitioners nor did they instill religious customs in her, but her grandmother was the one who marked a turning point by baptizing her “de estrangis” at the age of 14 in Oviedo. Since then, he began to feel a special connection with spirituality. «I always felt a deep spirituality. When I went to a church or temple for some reason, I liked it,” he confessed.
Her interest in the religious world deepened years later, when she worked on a television program dedicated to searching for nuns. That experience allowed him to learn more about the contrasts of Catholicism: «I discovered very bad bad things and very good good things about Catholics. But clearly I felt very close to Christian values.

Two years ago, Ion Aramendi’s wife took another step in her faith by taking communion with her son, describing the experience as “very beautiful.” Since then, going to mass has become a special moment of introspection and gratitude: “It is the moment in which I reflect on the week, on the things that I regret, that I am proud of, I give many thanks for the life I have and I send energy to my people who I sense may need it. And it does me good.
Beyond the spiritual, the mass has also taken an important place as a family activity. According to María Amores, attending every Sunday, “rain or shine”, has become a plan that unites everyone and culminates with the classic aperitif.
