“Something Beautiful” was produced executively by Cyrus and Shawn Everett. His cover was photographed by Glen Luchford and shows Cyrus wrapped in a Thierry Mugler Couture of 1997 Archive, which was described as a “surprising wink” to the “bold” aesthetics and the visual narrative of the album.
A complete video clip is released on June 6 at the Tribeca Festival. Directed by Miley Cyrus, Brendan Walter, Jacob Bixenman and the acclaimed filmmaker Panos Cosmatos, the video gives life to the world of Something Beautiful. Naomi Campbell also appears in “Event Girl You’ve Ever Loved”. Produced by Miley Cyrus and Shawn Everett, with the collaboration of Brittany Howard, Maxx Morando and Michael Pollack, “Something Beautiful” is introspective, musically adventurous and with a deep emotional burden.

Healing
In November 2024, Cyrus declared for Harper’s Bazaar magazine that he was working on a new visual album entitled Subject Beautiful, which was inspired by The Wall (1979) by Pink Floyd, in addition to pointing out that the album would follow the concept of “healing” and would have “amazing visuals.”

“Something Beautiful” begins with “Prelude”, a melody of spoken word with instrumental accompaniment of electronics. His lyrics find Cyrus exploring existential thoughts and contemplating the duality of beauty. The song that gives title to the album begins as an alternative R&B ballad fusted with influences of soul and jazz. During the chorus, “explodes” in experimental rock and psychedelic pop, highlighted by the distorted voice of Cyrus. “End of the World” is a pop anthem with disc influences that deals with escapism and mortality against inevitable apocalypse. The song explores the “juxtaposition between the happiness of being with someone you love while the world collapses around you.” “More to lise” is a “cinematographic” ballad with guitar, piano and string instrument; Its introspective lyrics reflect on a failed relationship.
