Every month, the team of Spanish Billboard It highlights an industry executive behind a great success of the last four weeks, be it a single, an album, a tour or a musical event. Nadine Eliya is our executive of March 2025.
Name: Nadine Eliya
Title: Shakent CEO, Shakira’s manager
Field of action: Eliya has worked with Shakira for years, but ascended to Manager two, in 2023, when the Colombian star moved to Miami and began to take new music that has often called her “therapy.” In his role, Eliya not only coordinated all aspects of the album launch Women no longer crybut also worked on everything related to the tour of the same name.
“Completing the last part of this LMYNL cycle with this stadium tour is one of the most rewarding challenges of my career,” Eliya previously said to Billboard. “Organizing a show with Shakira is one of the most rigorous and training exercises that a creative professional can have, since he is an integral artist who demands excellence at all levels. But this is the most ambitious thing we have done so far. Finding the proper team of professionals and guiding it to the goal (both in sales and creativity) amid so many challenges was an education that has prepared me for any future challenge.”
Why is our executive of the month: After finishing the last of his seven concerts at the GNP Seguros stadium in Mexico City on March 30, as part of his tour, women no longer cry, Shakira announced that he will return to Mexico in August. With this bis, its total concerts in the country would amount to 22, a record for a single tour in Mexico. Initially, Shakira offered 11 concerts in Mexican stadiums, exhausting all tickets. Then, he announced additional concerts for August and September, including four more stops at the GNP Seguros stadium, for a total of 11, which will mark a record for the enclosure.
This is the last of a series of successes for the Colombian star. Last week, Billboard He informed that, during February, Shakira first headed the monthly list Top Tours, raising $ 32.9 million with 282,000 tickets sold that month, according to Billboard Boxscore figures. Shakira follows Bad Bunny, the Bukis and RBD among the Latin artists who have headed the monthly classification, but it is the first Latin soloist to reach the first place.
This No. 1 is particularly sweet for Shakira, who started his stadium tour last month in Brazil, but had to cancel three concerts in South America, one due to illness and two due to production problems. Those stumbling seem to have been forgotten. In addition to his new shows in Mexico, today (April 2) Shakira also announced additional dates in Miami and New York.
You have had many achievements in recent months, but these concerts in Mexico seem to be particularly important. Is that so?
These concerts in Mexico were very rewarding in many ways. It is gratifying to see a Latin American city leading worldwide as a city of concerts, which reinforces the enormous growth we have seen in the Latin market in the last 10 years. In addition, beating such significant records after more than 30 years of career is a testimony of his longevity (from Shakira) and the care we have put into continuing to create music that attracts new fans, while deepening the connection with those who have accompanied it all the way.
What has been the greatest on this path of Shakira, from its sentimental break to its current success?
The biggest challenge, I believe, as for anyone, was to channel pain towards productivity, towards growth, towards a connection tool. I think that his music last year moved many women who felt that they gave voice to their own feelings and frustrations, and made them feel recognized.
Some people should think that current success is easy, since it is Shakira. What would you say?
Ha! Each new stage of a stadium tour brings its own challenges, and each achievement only brings us ideas for new goals that we want to achieve. It is a mistake to think that when you get to the top, you relax. It only increases bets. And I’m bad to relax!
What can you tell us about the concept of the tour?
These are female archetypes, connection and empowerment. If they look, many of the interludes, which are a computer animated by computer (a scoop in the industry!), They focus on an archetype (the warrior, the mother, the wolf). The idea was to accompany the fans on this trip and that they left inspired and empowered. I think it exceeded all expectations, including yours.
Oh really? What were your expectations when they started planning and what are they now?
I think we expected to surprise fans with a great show, but we did not expect the emotional reaction or the great stir that has become this experience of attending their concert.
A couple of weeks ago, in the middle of the tour, they released a new music video, for the song “Last” of Women no longer cry. Why now?
We filmed that video a while ago, but we wanted to launch it at a time that had meaning. It was a beautiful gold brooch for a chapter, a year after the launch of such a personal album, and share it from a very different perspective than when the song was written, after the live version connected with so many people on the tour. It was a gift for fans who gave us so much support at a difficult time.
