Mystery and esotericism in the I Day of Magic ‘Routes of Toledo’

The mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, inaugurated the First Magic Day ‘Rutas de Toledo’, highlighting the potential of the magical and the esoteric as differentiating elements to promote culture and tourism in the city.

The event, held at the emblematic Castillo de San Servando, featured the participation of prominent experts such as Javier del Castillo and Tahoces.

Unique Treasures of Toledo

“The magical and the esoteric differentiate us from other cities to promote our culture and tourism. “Toledo has many unique treasures, such as the Primate Cathedral, the extraordinary synagogues and the Puy du Fou park, but also what is felt but not seen, and we must also exploit that,” said the mayor during his speech.

The Castle of San Servando, described by Velázquez as “the ideal place to host this type of event”, is establishing itself as a reference space for events related to the magical, the occult and the paranormal. According to him, this approach reinforces the unique character of Toledo and its ability to attract visitors interested in these topics.

European Capital of Culture 2031

The mayor expressed his support for these initiatives, underlining that they are key in the context of the Toledo project as European Capital of Culture 2031. “We are convinced that it is good for Toledo, and we are working with the Royal Toledo Foundation to prepare an action cultural excellence, with an ambitious and quality program,” he stated.

In addition, Velázquez highlighted that the City Council is seeking resources from other public administrations to advance the development of this project.

“Even if we do not win the title of European Capital of Culture, it will have been worth it, because we will be working with a medium and long-term cultural strategy, something fundamental for our city,” he assured.

Featured space for the paranormal, mystery, magic and legends

Toledo’s candidacy will include a prominent space for the paranormal, mystery, magic and legends, aspects that, according to the mayor, “are necessary to present a project that truly represents what Toledo is.” Velázquez concluded by emphasizing that this approach will contribute to consolidating Toledo as a unique cultural and tourist reference.
