Mystery on the Costa da Morte: what is the alleged sunken narco-submarine hiding? (Videos)

The Civil Guard reports on the actions carried out in relation to the location and rescue of an alleged drug submarine in the Camariñas-Muxía estuary:
1. Initial Location:
On January 22, 2025, at 09:10 a.m., a notice was received at this COS Central of the location of a semi-submerged vessel at the entrance to the Camariñas-Muxía estuary. The detection was carried out by the fishing boat María Cristina, based in the Port of Laxe (C), which towed the vessel towards the Port of Camariñas.
• Immediately, troops from the 5th Company, SMP A Coruña, USECIC, and UOPJ moved to the scene to secure the area and coordinate the investigation and rescue efforts.

2. Current State of the Vessel:

During the transfer operations, the narco-submarine split into two sections:
• The bow, which remains afloat, since it is possibly where the fuel tanks are housed.
• The stern, which includes the engine section, has collapsed, due to its greater weight.
The sunken part is not next to the floating section and it is estimated that it could be between 100 and 200 meters away.

• Specialized teams, including the GEAS (Special Group of Underwater Activities) and the Air Service of the Civil Guard, have also joined the work in the area to locate and refloat the sunken parts of the submarine.

• The best way to recover the sunken sections and transfer them to the Port of Camariñas for analysis continues to be evaluated.

The Civil Guard appreciates the collaboration of the fishing vessel María Cristina and all the units deployed in this operation.

Now the mystery of the submarine, which it transported, or transported, remains to be solved, although everything indicates that it may be a narco-submarine, which once inspected, it will be known what the submarine’s purpose was.
