The legendary career of the Tijuanese fighter Rey Mystery will be honored by the Dignicraft producing house next Thursday, February 6, with the presentation of the short “Family struggles” in the video room of the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT).
For about 50 years Miguel Ángel López Díaz was part of the professional wrestling, both as a fighter and as a teacher, with multiple awards throughout his career and a legacy that remains with his heirs and pupils.
Therefore at 6:00 p.m. it will be the presentation of the video originally created for the TV bulb project, then produced by Audiovisual Galatea (now Dignicraft), and will be presided with distinguished personalities of regional wrestling.
Among the guests will be the original member of the La Familia de Tijuana group, Damián 666, as well as the son of King Mystery (heir of the legend), in addition to his classmates of the new generation of the family: Beast 666 and Mr. 450 (Mecha Wolf).
The director of the Mexican Wrestling Museum (Mullme), Mauricio Pino, who has been a couple of time Wrestling Commissioner from Tijuana; and members of the short film production team.
In life Rey Mystery was induced both the gallery of the fame of the wrestling of Tijuana, created by the then Box, Lucha and Mixed Arts Commission (AMM) of Tijuana, and in the Tijuanense Force Gallery, this in the 2008.
He told how a great stage as a masked technician and was the first fighter born in Tijuana to defend a championship, in this case the medium of the World Wrestling Association (WWA), in Japan, this against Great Hamada.
After losing his unknown on March 25, 1988 against Fishman, and recovering from injuries, King Mystery modified his style when he went to the rude side and, eventually, forming one of the most important groups of Mexican wrestling of the early century XXI: The family.
This team was made up of mystery, together with the Tijuanenses Damián 666 and Halloween, together with the Valet Lady Victoria, the same group that later had more members such as the original psychosis (niche the millionaire), as well as temporary members of Inferno, Zumbido, Konnan, and even King Mystery Jr and the son of King Mystery.
And part of that story is the one captured in the TV bulb short, the rise of this group with epic battles in the Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno Auditorium and a worthy preamble to the discussion table on the role of King Mystery in the fight of Baja California , as well as national and international.
Bulbo TV marked a milestone in alternative audiovisual production in Mexico, opening its way to new narratives on independent television and “family struggles” was the first product of the series in 2002.
