Police look for thief who robbed three banks in less than 25 hours in the Bronx

A criminal robbed three banks in 25 hours amid a wave of robberies in the Bronxthe authorities reported.

The thiefwho was dressed in a winter coat, a ski cap and a graying beard, He waited his turn in line at the banks and then passed a note to the teller stating that he had a gun.. He later ordered tellers to put the loose money in a carry-on bag he was carrying, officials said.

But the brazen wave of robberies has not left him much money. In the three robberies, officers said he only took a total of $3,400.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) published images from security cameras hoping that someone can recognize him.

The robberies began shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday when he entered a Webster Bank branch on Allerton Ave. near Colden Ave. in Allerton, police said. The subject handed his threatening note to the cashier, but he panicked and ran away before receiving the money.reported Daily News.

Less than 15 minutes later, the robber entered an Apple Bank on White Plains Road near Pelham Parkway South, about a mile from the Webster Bank branch, handed the note to the teller, claiming he had a gun, although he never showed it.

The cashier gave him about $400, according to agents. The criminal was last seen walking towards a Nissan Altima parked near the banks and sped away.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, the offender appeared again at a Citi Bank branch on Baychester Ave. near Strang Ave. in Wakefield, where heHe handed over the note threatening to pull out his gun if he didn’t fill the bag with the cash in the employee drawer..

This time he left the bank with $3,000according to the police.

No injuries were reported in any of the robberies.
