This award, which has previously been awarded to renowned artists such as Shakira and Karol G, highlights its “exceptional success, leadership and cultural influence.” At 32, Gomez has achieved 42 entries in the Billboard Hot 100 and has established a historical record with his EP “Revelation” (2021), which became the first Spanish album of a female artist to debut in the #1 of Top Latin Albums from “El Dorado” of Shakira.
“Creating music that honors my inheritance and my family has been one of my most proud moments. I know that this would have made my grandmother happy,” he confessed about the project, which also gave Grammy nomination.
In her message, the artist also addressed the lack of representation she experienced during her childhood: “She did not see women like me in the center of stories.
