“A song, a friendship and the desire to get together are enough,” Alejandro Sanz wrote to promote the launch of the official video clip of Kiss mehis new song with Shakira, which only a few hours after his premiere in YouTubealready accumulate thousands of reproductions.
And it is that the spark was revived between both artists to sing to love with the same complicity of always, this time in a black and white aesthetic that enhances the emotion.
The video clip, released this Thursday, bets on the essential. No artifice: only them, sharing looks, laughs and a connection that crosses the screen. Shakira, with a cap, jacket and braids, appears as if he had just left the studio. Both are on a platform, microphone in hand, as if rehearsing for an intimate show. Then, the atmosphere is transformed: the background darkens, she releases hair and staging becomes more intense, without losing naturalness.
Included in the new EP of Sanz, And now what?the song explores desire, absence and that melancholy that comes when the reason is no longer looking for, but for what. “Not even with all the coffee from Colombia I take away your aroma,” the Colombian sings, to which the Spanish replies: “I wrote this song and a list of pending things. The first is to make love you urgently.” And the choir summarizes everything: “Kiss me / that the mysteries / Kiss me at once.”
Without choreographies or special effects, the video is committed to authenticity. Between shots, they laugh, improvise, flow. It is a reunion that goes beyond the musical: it is a conversation between two artists that are understood without the need for words.
The musical spark between them began 20 years ago with torture (2005), a global success that broke molds with its sensuality, its intense lyrics and an unforgettable choreography. A year later, I united forces in I appreciate it, but no (2006), this time with Sanz as host.
