(Telemundo Atlanta) – The expected return of Shakira to the stage with his tour Women no longer cry World Tour has been a resounding success, filling stadiums in each city he visits.
However, a recent health alert has put enthusiasm after its presentation last May 15 at the Metlife Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The New Jersey Health Department (NJDOH) issued a public warning on Tuesday after detecting a possible case of measles linked to one of the concert attendees.

According to the official statement, a non -resident spectator of the State would have attended the show while crossing his contagious period, exposing thousands of people to the virus between 7:30 pm on May 15 and 1:00 am from 16, an interval that covers from his arrival until his departure from the stadium.
The health institution urged those who attended the Shakira concert, both residents and travelers, to monitor possible symptoms of measles, such as high fever, cough, nasal secretion and red or crying eyes. In addition, it was recommended to verify the state of measles vaccination, paper and rubella (MMR) and, in case of doubt, go to health centers to immunize.
“There were possible exhibitions associated with a recent measles case identified in a person who does not reside in New Jersey,” said the NJDOH, warning about the risks of this highly contagious virus and the need to contain any propagation.
The announcement has generated restlessness among the thousands of fans who attended the evening, although so far no more related cases have been confirmed. The authorities are already working together with local instances to track possible contacts in the case and prevent the disease from disseminating.
For its part, Shakira has not issued statements regarding the incident, and its tour continues as planned in US territory. Meanwhile, the authorities call for prevention, without the success of the tour that marks a new stage in the Colombian superstar career.
