Shakira postponed concert in Los Angeles for protests against ICE raids

Los Angeles (USA) – Colombian singer Shakira announced the postponement of her concert planned for June 20 at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, in response to the ongoing demonstrations against massive immigration raids led by the Immigration and Customs Control Service (ICE).

The show, part of his tour Women no longer crywas rescheduled for August 4, according to the organizers through the official Tour account in the social network X. In the statement, the possibility of adding a second date was also mentioned, due to the total sale of the tickets.

This postponement adds to a series of cancellations and recent changes in the Shakira tour. On May 31, the concert scheduled in Washington was suspended for delays in the transfer of production from Boston, where a presentation had also been canceled on May 29.

Since its inception, the tour has faced logistics complications. The dates initially scheduled for November and December 2024 in the United States and Canada had already been postponed by 2025 due to the high demand for tickets and changes in the venues of the events.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Shakira criticized US immigration policy and expressed concern about the immigrants. “Currently, being an immigrant in the United States means living with constant fear,” said the artist. In addition, he called on empathy and unity: “We have to raise our voice and make it very clear that a country can change its immigration policies, but treatment to all people must always be human.”
