Shakira will perform in Fresno for the first time, in an unusual and huge concert enclosure

Shakira has just added Fresno to the list of cities that women will visit during their world tour they no longer cry.

That, in itself, is worthy of news, given the popularity of the mega star of the hip movement (the best female Latin artist of all time according to Billboard) and the fact that it will be their first performance in Fresno.

But this is also a stadium tour, which means that the Colombian singer will perform in massive places such as the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and the Oracle Park in San Francisco.

In Fresno, it will be presented at the Valley Children’s Stadium in Fresno State.

The August 7 concert will take place after two nights at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles and will be the last date of the tour in the United States, after which the singer will go to Mexico City, where he will play on multiple dates at the GnP Seguros stadium. Tickets, presale and VIP for Shakira in Fresno

Tickets go on sale on June 25 at 10:00 am at Livenation.com, and the presale for CITI card holders began at 10 am on June 23. According to Live Nation, the tour offers several VIP experiences, which include premium tickets, opportunities to take photos with guests, access to the VIP room prior to the show, exclusive merchandise and much more. Ticket prices have not yet been announced. A first for the Valley Children’s stadium

Fresno’s story is full of shows in quite important stages.

The Police headed a concert there in 1983 with Thompson Twins, Oingo Bingo and The Fixx. Willie Nelson played there in 1988, according to the Concert Archives website.

The Shakira concert will be the first in the Valley Children’s Stadium and occurs at a time when the university seeks to diversify its income.

The stadium was inaugurated in 1980, it was extended in 1991 and its names were sold in a $ 10 million agreement in 2022, but it has been used almost exclusively for American Fresno State football. The most prominent non -sporty event at the stadium was the Crusade of the Central Valley of four days with Pastor Billy Graham in 2001. He attracted 50,000 people every night.

Concerts of this size are extremely rare in Fresno, and Shakira could have the largest concert in a single night in the history of the city, according to the specialized publication in the Pollstar music industry.

Madonna sold a total of 20,154 tickets in two concerts at the Save Marten Arena in 2006, according to Pollstar. Garth Brooks sold 51,743 in four concerts in the same stadium in 2016. The Mexican regional band MP, with pen weight, sold 21,097 at Chukchansi Park in 2023, a record for the stadium, according to the Fresno Grizzlies.

The Valley Children’s stadium has a capacity of 40,727 football spectators.

That does not include seats in the field, which seems to be added as part of the production of the tour. Shakira has reached similar figures in markets such as Orlando and Charlotte, according to Pollstar.
