Spears Empathy Message with Latinos in the United States

In an interview for BBC, Shakira recalled that in search of his dream for being an artist at age 19 he left Barranquilla to start a new life in the United States.
“It was surrounded by Spanish-English dictionaries and synonym dictionaries, because at that time I didn’t have Google or Chatgpt. Everything was very precarious.”
Today, with decades of experience and one more Grammy in her career, this time for the best Latin pop album, the singer wanted to dedicate it to those who share that same origin:
“To all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country. They are loved, they are worth it and I will always fight with you,” said excitedly on stage.
Shakira also shared his vision of how the environment for immigrants in the US has changed, especially after hate speeches and restrictive policies that have gained strength in recent years.
“Currently immigrant in the United States means living with constant fear,” he said. “And it is painful to see it.”
The Colombian called for not losing empathy or the sense of community:
“Now, more than ever, we have to remain united. A country can change its immigration policies, but the treatment of all people must always be human.”
