The Diocesan Priestly Convictory “Venerable José María García Lahiguera” has organized spiritual exercises, from January 12 to 17, in the Diocesan House of Spirituality “Our Lady of the Angels” of Xàbia, which will have the participation of the Archbishop of Valencia, mons. Enrique Benavent, and 31 priests.
During the days of spiritual exercises, which will begin on Sunday evening, the priests will attend meditations, celebrate the Eucharist together and have moments of prayer and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Likewise, they will have the opportunity to talk with the director of the Spiritual Exercises, Gaspar Hernández Peludo.
The purpose of the Diocesan Priestly Convictory is to accompany diocesan secular priests in the first five years after their ordination.
This course, inaugurated last October by the Archbishop of Valencia, Monsignor Enrique Benavent, consists of a total of 34 priests in the Convictory: 8, from 2020; 10, 2021; 5, 2022; 4, 2023; and 7, ordered in June 2024.
