Starting in 2025, citizens of this European country will not need a visa to enter the United States

Traveling to the United States has become one of the biggest goals of Colombians for 2025, whether for work, study or tourism.

To visit the North American country, most interested parties must apply for a visa, a mandatory document that allows the citizen to enter and stay in the country for a certain period of time.

However, in the last few hours it was learned that, starting in 2025, citizens of Romania will be able to travel to the United States without needing to obtain a visa, thanks to the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

According to a statement from Ambassador Muraru, this new opportunity will strengthen the relationship between both countries, and will position Romania as the first country in the Black Sea region to be included in the program.

“The designation of Romania in the United States visa waiver program is an important recognition of our common economic and security interests,” the diplomat stressed.

The VWP is a US government initiative that allows citizens of selected countries to enter the country without needing a visa, as long as their stay is for tourism or business purposes and does not exceed 90 days.

The program improves the flow of travelers and promotes economic and cultural cooperation between participating nations.

To travel to the United States, citizens of Romania must obtain an electronic travel authorization (ESTA) before boarding to the North American country.

To obtain this benefit, countries must have a low rate of illegal immigration, strong economic stability, and a high level of human development.

Among the countries that enjoy this benefit are Japan, Germany, France and Chile, which was the first Latin American country to join the program.
