He goes to therapy since the age of 17. He currently resorts to desensitization and reprocessing therapy by ocular movement (EMDR), a technique to process traumas through bilateral stimuli, such as movements or taps. This method activates brain processing to “reprocess or digest the memory and make it less intense,” explains the Sanja Oakley psychotherapist to Vogue.

Thanks to this process, Miley has been seen in different stages of her life, as if she traveled on a train that crosses different stations. He saw his mother, who was given for adoption to his grandmother. He was present – spiritually – in that first rejection that marked both with a desperate need for affection and approval.

“But I think what I had, that ‘I want so much to love me’, it wasn’t mine, it was my mother. It hurt that she took him, so I have taken him for her,” he confesses.
