“Taizé lives spirituality in a simple way, from humility and respect”

Forty students from Blanquerna (URL) and four companions shared the experience of living with the monks of Taizé

From April 14 to 17, forty students from Blanquerna (URL) and four companions shared the experience of living with the monks of Taizé. They participated in community prayers and biblical reflections, and also did reflection dynamics with all the students. Anna Riera, early childhood education student at the Blanquerna FPCEE Faculty and coordinator of the trip, who had gone to Taizé several times with her family and with young people from the parish of La Garriga, gives a very positive assessment of the experience.

What has the trip meant for you?

For me it has been a nice enrichment. Unfortunately, our daily lives do not invite us to talk about those things that worry us or that make us happy. Being able to share this journey has been a moment to be able to get to know different realities in personal, spiritual and professional areas, sharing aspects of our lives, without the feeling of feeling judged. It has also been an eye-opener to be able to see the beauty of life around us.

What has impacted you the most about the spirituality of Taizé?

The way to live it and share it. For me, Taizé lives spirituality in a simple way, from humility and respect for all people. This simplicity is reflected in all their prayers through silence and songs, because through all this a community is created and meaning is given to each person’s prayers.

Do you feel that your faith has been strengthened as a result of the trip?

I think it has been an opportunity to connect and hear again. For me, Taizé is a source of inspiration and gratitude. I consider that I have returned with a heart and spirit full of gratitude, wanting to have moments of silence and prayer, and to live simply as the brothers do. I believe that my faith has gained strength to be able to love with great desire and to be able to give without expecting to receive, just as Jesus did.
