Taylor Swift’s oldest albums in Spotify doubled their listeners last Friday, the day the singer announced that she bought the rights of her catalog, compared to the average number of daily reproductions they recorded between April 1 and May 29.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, which has had access to figures from the musical platform, “Speak Now” (2010) is the one that obtained a greater increase in streams that day, with a 430 % rise worldwide.
While his debut album (2006), which bears his name, and “reputation” (2017), the only ones that the artist has not recorded again, had an increase in listeners of 220 % and 175 %, respectively.

For their part, the “Fearless” streams (2008) grew by 160 %, those of “Red” (2012) 150 %and those of “1989” (2014) by 110 %.
According to the medium, Swift, which has 82 million monthly listeners on the platform – where it is the tenth most listened to the world – its reproductions generally increased by 40 % only on Friday.
That day, the singer announced that she has regained control of her musical catalog almost six years after she had been sold to producer Scooter Braun.
Before this announcement, Swift again recorded four of their albums, which maintained the same name but next to the parenthesis (Taylor’s version) and that reaped great success, leading the most listened to album lists and deriving in the “The Eras Tour” tour.
The 35 -year -old singer and songwriter said that he could recover her music was largely due to the support received during this tour, which ended in December 2024 and raised more than 2,000 million dollars in ticket sales.
Swift’s attempts to recover his music began when in June 2019 Scooter Braun, then stars manager such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, acquired Big Machine Label Group, the record label that possessed the masters of his first six albums.
Since then, Swift publicly denounced that he was denied the possibility of buying them directly and that his catalog had been sold without his consent, which led her to undertake a re -registration project to recover control of her work.
