Taylor Swift recovers control of his music after six years of struggle

Taylor Swift announced Friday that he has recovered the rights of his musical catalog, almost six years after producer Scooter Braun without his consent.

“I can say these words: all the music that I have made now belongs to me … to me,” he wrote excitedly in a letter published on his website. Swift said he has cried for joy “at random intervals” since he received the news.

The artist thanked her fans for mass support during her ‘The Eras Tour’ tour, which raised more than 2,000 million dollars and was key for her to repurfish her music.

Swift began his battle in 2019 when Braun acquired Big Machine Label Group, the seal that had the masters of his first six albums. Since then, he publicly denounced that he was denied the possibility of buying them directly and decided to re -record his albums, baptizing them as Taylor’s version.

The final opportunity came thanks to Shamrock Capital, a firm that acquired the catalog and then approached it to negotiate “honest, fair and respectful”. “They saw it as what it was for me: my memories, my calligraphy, my dreams. I am infinitely grateful,” she concluded.
