Taylor Swift recovers his music and shoots his figures on Spotify

Taylor Swift’s music was news again, but this time not for a new release, but for an old yearning fulfilled: recover control of its original catalog. Last Friday, the singer announced that she has finally bought the rights of her first albums, and the response of her followers was immediate and overwhelming.
According to data cited by The Hollywood ReporterSwift’s oldest albums on Spotify doubled their listening that same day, compared to the daily average registered between April 1 and May 29. The greatest rebound was for Speak Now (2010), which experienced a 430 % increase in global reproductions.
Other iconic titles also saw notable increases: their debut album Taylor Swift (2006) rose 220 %, while Reputation (2017) – even without rewriting – increased by 175 %. Fearless (2008) and Grid (2012) grew by 160 % and 150 %, respectively, and 1989 (2014) rose 110 %.
Together, swift reproductions on the platform grew 40 % only on Friday, consolidating their position as one of the most listened to the planet, with more than 82 million monthly listeners.
The announcement marked the closure of a cycle of almost six years of contractual disputes. It all started in 2019, when Scooter Braun acquired Big Machine Label Group, the seal that had the masters of the first six Swift albums. The artist denounced then that she was prevented from acquiring her original recordings and that these were sold without their consent.
In response, Swift undertook an ambitious refrabation project, launching alternative versions of Fearless, Grid, Speak Now and 1989all labeled as (Taylor’s version). These new editions not only headed lists of successes, but became a symbol of artistic empowerment.
In her statement, the 35 -year -old singer thanked the mass support she received during The Eras Toura tour that culminated in December 2024 and that generated more than 2,000 million dollars in tickets. It was that support, he said, that allowed him to resume control of his musical legacy.
With his music, back in his hands, Taylor Swift reaffirms his position not only as a global superstar, but as a key figure in the struggle for the rights of artists within the music industry.
