Taylor Swift will not be summoned as a witness in the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni

The pop star Taylor Swift will no longer be part of the judicial process between actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who will face a trial scheduled for March 9, 2026 by the movie It Ends With Us. Swift had been summoned at the beginning of the month as a possible witness due to his friendship with Lively, but Baldoni, who also directed and co -starred in the film, withdrew the application this Thursday.
A Lively spokesman confirmed the news to several media, noting that his team is “happy” with the decision and described the citation as a form of “harassment” to the singer and her legal team. “We support the efforts of the Taylor team to cancel these inappropriate summons aimed at your lawyer and we will continue to defend any third party who is unfairly harassed or threatened in the process,” added the representative.
The spokesman also accused Baldoni’s legal team of having tried from the beginning to “put at the point of sights” to Swift, using his fame to divert attention from the main case.
The singer’s environment clarified that Swift does not have a significant connection with the film: “He never stepped on the set, did not participate in creative decisions, did not compose the soundtrack or saw the film until weeks after its premiere.” His only link was the license to use one of his songs, as did 19 artists.
The tension between Lively and Baldoni climbed last week, when the director’s legal team accused the actress of threatening to disseminate private messages with Swift if she did not show her public support. The judge withdrew this accusation from the file for considering it “irrelevant” and “undue.”
The legal conflict between both parties began at the end of 2024, when Lively denounced Baldoni for sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior during filming. Since then, both parties have exchanged cross demands that include accusations of defamation and an economic claim that amounts to 400 million dollars.
