The Government of Risaralda promotes the importance of spirituality in the family

Pereira, May 29, 2024. Within the framework of family month, the Government Secretariat of Risaralda, through the Directorate of Governance and Democracy, led the forum “The Importance of Spirituality in the Family.”
This event included the participation of members of the Committee on Religious Freedom and Worship, who highlighted the relevance of recognizing God in families to strengthen ties at home.
This activity was carried out in compliance with draft ordinance 024, through which the annual week for family rights is created in the department of Risaralda. The project’s central objective is to strengthen the family, highlighting its importance in the fabric and construction of society, promoting values, rights and the union of Risralda families.
Jaime Echeverry, director of Governance and Democracy, pointed out that the forum was organized to strengthen the family nucleus with different presentations by leaders of the religious sector of the department.
“It is important to remember that this forum is held within the framework of family month and in compliance with the ordinance. We have joined the agenda and joint offer of the different agencies to generate these academic and recreational spaces, strengthening the values and rights of Risaraldense families”.
Priest Francisco Arias applauded the initiative of the Government of Risaralda, through the Government Secretariat, to promote religious freedom and promote activities that make visible the work on religious matters in the department.
“Forums like these are important because they allow us to get closer to the different religious proposals, uniting criteria and efforts that we are making for the well-being of a society, because I think that the last end of any religious or spiritual experience is what seeks to integrate the society and that from a higher reality we can accept each other in our differences every day and learn to have a healthy coexistence”, said the priest.
Father Francisco Arias also highlighted that the family is essential to strongly unite the family nucleus, allowing, through a spiritual dimension, to enjoy true love and build a better society.
