The mystery of the businessman who was missing but who crashed and walked away
The Santa Cruz Police had been looking for him since December 26, after his relatives reported that they had no news about his whereabouts. Nobody imagined that they would find him this Thursday walking along Route 3, after being involved in a triple crash at the southern access to Langara Bay.
How Ariel Alejandro Dus, a pharmaceutical businessman from Caleta Olivia, got there is still a mystery. His family had lost contact with him and the only signs he had given came through social media posts.
The first was a day after he was reported missing. Can you clarify here that you are okay?, one of his contacts asked him. “I am calm in Puerto Madryn. Far from toxic people who come to my home to knock on my door (like crazy) to stop me from expressing myself on Facebook,” he responded.
And he added: “Today they went with the police and people from the local hospital. I told them (that) it was my home and that I was not leaving. Those at the hospital wanted to inject me with a painkiller when I was the calmest one in that scene. Very sick! So I escaped to peace of mind.”
Hours later, he published a post on his Instagram stories with a chat screenshot, in which a follower is seen asking him where he was going. “To look for my crown”responded the businessman.
According to reports, the man is 43 years old and was in charge of managing the retail stores of an important diaper company in Caleta Olivia and Pico Truncado, with emphasis on the sale of baby products. In November, these businesses closed their doors after complaints.
The Santa Cruz Police did not hear from him again until this Thursday, when they identified him while he was walking along Route 3, after surviving a violent crash.
According to what could be established, the businessman was traveling aboard a Kangoo truck when he lost control because he was going at high speed and collided with several vehicles that were traveling on the road, in a multiple accident that did not result in serious injuries.
The first of the crashes was against the side of a truck. The impact caused one of the truck’s wheels to come off, in addition to damaging the fuel tank.
Dus continued driving and later collided with another truck and ended his journey by hitting a Renault Duster, which caused it to end up impacting and overturning on the side of the road.
Witnesses said that the businessman got out of his truck and, bloody, asked for help to “continue traveling.” Since no one responded to his request, he walked away. After the Police found him, they transferred him to the Caleta Olivia Zonal Hospital, where he was admitted under the care of mental health specialists.
