The Pallottine Spirituality Center celebrates its patron
Located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Núñez, its temple is dedicated to San Bonifacio and San Vicente Pallotti, whose feast day is January 22. That day, at mass, a jubilee indulgence can be obtained.
He Pallottine Spirituality Center (located at Cuba 2981, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Núñez), on whose property is the church dedicated to Saint Boniface and Saint Vincent Pallottiwill dress up next Wednesday, January 22.
That, in fact, is the day of the liturgical commemoration of that Italian saint, who lived between 1795 and 1850 and was the founder of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate (UAC), which includes priests, religious and lay people, and whose members are known precisely as “Palotines.”
The temple had originally been dedicated to Saint Boniface (known as the “apostle of Germany”) and the Center of the Community of German-speaking Catholics has traditionally operated there, whose activities are currently greatly reduced.
On the other hand, since 2015, the Pallotine Spirituality Center began to operate in the same place, which was the main reason why it was decided, more recently, to establish Saint Vincent Pallotti as co-patron of the temple.
Thus, on December 1, 2024, the archbishop of Buenos Aires, Monsignor Jorge García Cuervacelebrated the inauguration mass of the new patronage there.
Added to this is that, in addition to the Jubilee of Hope, promulgated by Pope Francis for the entire Church, the Pallottine family is experiencing, this year, 2025, its own Jubilee Year, as it marks 150 years since the founding of the UAC. by Saint Vincent Pallotti.
For this reason, those people who participate, this January 22 at 7 p.m., in the mass that will be celebrated in the temple dedicated to that saint, will be able to obtain, by concession of the Apostolic Penitentiary, the plenary jubilee indulgence, as long as they comply with the other usual conditions for this.
Activities at the Pallottine Spirituality Center
The father Rodolfo CapalozzaPallottine priest and current director of the Center, pointed out, in a telephone conversation with AICA, some of the activities carried out there: spiritual retreats; spiritual accompaniment service; iconography courses; prayer workshops; and reflection days (dedicated to a specific topic, one Saturday a month).
Father Capalozza also specified that masses are only celebrated on Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 11 a.m., with the exception of certain solemnities and occasions such as next Wednesday the 22nd.
