Santa Cruz.- Bolivian producer and filmmaker Mirko Álvarez is ready for the premiere of his new suspense and mystery film, Helena’s disappearancewhich hits screens this Thursday, January 16.
The plot of the film follows two YouTubers specialized in mysteries, María Mita and Mario Meneses, who travel to Santa Cruz to investigate the disappearance of Helena Hernández, a case that appears to be related to an alien abduction.
“The story revolves around two characters who delve into a deep and dangerous mystery, putting their own lives at risk while trying to discover how far they can go to find the truth,” Álvarez details in an interview on the radio program eju.tv’s Peak Hour, led by Belén Mendivil, Natali Justiniano, Jorge Robles and Ernesto Justiniano.

The narrative unfolds in a suspenseful atmosphere, keeping the audience on the edge of their seat as the protagonists investigate the unexplained events surrounding the disappearance.
The film was recorded in a record time of between 20 and 21 days, during weekends, which reflects the dedication and effort of the entire team involved. Álvarez, who was attracted to cinema since he was little, wrote the script in 2020, taking advantage of his free time during the quarantine.
“It was a challenging project due to a small budget, but the local talent allowed us to create a captivating story,” said Álvarez. The actors who play the main roles are all local, which gives the film an authentic and relatable touch.
