After the cessation of activity at the facilities, announced last November 2024, different proposals were analyzed, among which was the offer of this entity. In this sense, and Taking into account the current immigration context, the Salesian congregation, aligned in the values for the promotion and full development of youth in a situation of social inequality, has reached an agreement with CEAR for the assignment of spaces and material attention thatYou can start up a humanitarian reception device for refugees and applicants for international protection. The Salesian facilities in the Sevillian town are added to the reception center in the Campano Complex, in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz), which, since the end of 2023, it has already been managed with CEAR as an experience of coexistence, respect and respect and tolerance that is allowing this project to develop satisfactorily
This reception center is fully framed in the protection work in which Cear has been actively working over more than four decades, always with the perspective of defending and promoting the right of asylum in Spain and with the aim of advancing in its recognition and guarantee access to the international protection procedure with all the guarantees of the law.
In this way, the organization will be responsible for the management of this center, where the people received will be treated by a wide team of professionals from the entity composed of a team of reception technicians, legal, psychological and administrative advice, among others.
About Cear
Cear is an NGO founded in 1979 and whose mission is to defend the right of asylum and human rights and promote the integral development of refugees who have been fleeing war or violation of human rights, stateless people and migrants in need of international protection and/or at risk of social exclusion.
The entity, by designation of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, manages a limited number of places to accommodate asylum applicants during their procedure for international protection application and under the protection of the obligations that the Spanish State has under the treaties International
The people received mainly from sub -Saharan countries such as Mali, and have been forced to leave their homes due to conflicts, violation of their rights or persecutions. For the most part, these people are in the process of recognizing the statute of refugee and even many of them have already been recognized favorably.
In addition, the entity will carry out, in the coming weeks, a communication and awareness campaign on the project to social and business agents, schools, institutes and media of the municipality.
More than 45 years since its foundation, CEAR has a long and proven career in the reception and comprehensive care of refugees, applicants for international protection and migrants in vulnerability. In the province of Seville, the entity manages other reception devices both in the capital, in other municipalities such as La Rinconada, Camas, Guillena and Mairena del Aljarafe.
The entity’s experience in the mentioned municipalities is very positive taking into account the social, economic and cultural impact in these local contexts, where over the last years coexistence, tolerance and empathy have prevailed, allowing the inclusion of people received in the neighborhoods and municipalities and their integration with their neighbors.
