The second plane with US deportees arrives in Lima in Trump’s new mandate

An airplane with 106 Peruvians deported by the administration of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, landed in Lima this Thursday, a source with knowledge of the operation told CNN. The Foreign Ministry is planned to be pronounced later on this fact.

This Thursday, Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer appeared before the Congress Foreign Relations Commission, which he was summoned to explain the situation of Peruvians who face an imminent deportation in the US. The official said to the media, before of its entry to the session, which currently there are 308 Peruvians with deportation order and another 340 waiting for a document to be expelled.
Congressman Carlos Lizarzaburu pointed out during the session that – according to official data – between August 2022 and January 2025, 428 Peruvians have been deported from the USA per month on average. So far in February, the Trump administration has deported 140 Peruvians.
On Saturday, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement that convened public institutions to provide “immediate medical, psychological and social assistance” to the deportened Peruvians, who are also providing “support to facilitate their reintegration to Peruvian society” through the Public insurance for those who do not have medical coverage, as well as opportunities for those who need work.
Deportations occur as part of the measures initiated by the Trump government against undocumented immigration, with massive expulsions of immigrants from other countries in the region.
