The stars shine with custom suits on the met gala, a black style celebration

New York (Reuters) – singer Rihanna revealed her third pregnancy, Pharrell Williams wore a jacket with 15,000 pearls and the musician Andre 3000 tied a piano behind her back in the met gala that was held on Monday.

Most of the black and white sets filled the dark blue carpet with narcissos accents that covered the staircase of the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York. The guests to the charity event were arriving while the attendees protected them with umbrella of the intense rain.

Formula 1 pilot Lewis Hamilton and actor Colman Domingo, co -presidents of the gala, were the first stars of sport, music, cinema and television to appear.

Domingo wore a real -blue pleated layer that fell from a golden and white cover on the shoulders. The layer was removed to wear a jacket of black and black paintings and gray pants. Hamilton chose a ivory suit with a beret.

The last to arrive was Rihanna, who wore a black winged hat and a striped bullshit bundle that was scored to the belly. His partner, the musician at $ Ap Rocky, had arrived before and confirmed that Rihanna was pregnant with the third son of the couple.

In between, the former presidential democratic Kamala Harris had made its way to the event. It was not seen on the carpet, but the Democratic party published a photo of yours on social networks with a long black and white dress.

Andre 3000 monopolized all looks with one of the most extravagant “looks”: a piano replica that carried the back as if it were a backpack.

Pharrell Williams, musician and creative male fashion director of Louis Vuitton, wore black tuxedo pants combined with a ivory jacket adorned with 15,000 pearls.

The Met Gala, which collects funds for the Institute of the Art Museum, has become famous for its list of celebrities dressed in extravagant costumes. This year, the guests had to dress according to the motto “To your measure”, a wink to the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” (Superfino: black tailoring) in the Institute of the Museum’s suit. The exhibition focuses on the elegant aesthetic of the black dandi.

The motto was elected before the election of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, who attacked the diversity and inclusion efforts during the first weeks of his second term.

Andrew Bolton, chief commissioner of the Institute of the suit, said that although working in the exhibition in 2022, “in this current political climate, it resonates in a very different way. The moment is everything.”

Also on the carpet, the legendary Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan wore a Sherwani -style black silk jacket on black pants with several necklaces, including one with a giant “k”.

The “Euphoria” Sydney Sweeney actress wore an adjusted and bright black dress with the hair collected in a bun. His cast partner, Zendaya, wore a white silk suit with wing hat.

Some touches of color marked the carpet.

The Simone Biles Olympic gymnast stood out with a short blue dress with white collar. Director Spike Lee wore a black suit with a silver crossbag, orange glasses and an orange cap of New York Knicks. Singer Chappell Roan wore an intense pink dress.

Among the outstanding accessories, Bad Bunny wore a brown and yellow “bowling” and Tessa Thompson a range with an image of the late fashion journalist Andre Leon Talley, whom many cited as inspiration for their attire.

Other attendees were the musicians Stevie Wonder and Shaboozey and the actresses Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman and Cynthia Erivo.

The Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James star, honorary president of the act, could not attend a knee injury. “I hate to lose a historical event!” James wrote on the social network X.
