The students of the CEIP Puebla de Lillo have carried out an impressive interdisciplinary project, recreating the San Isidro ski resort using the popular Minecraft program. This project has allowed students to improve their spatial vision and orientation, as well as all key competencies exponentially.
During the development of the project, the students made six visits to the ski resort during the snow campaign days. Before each day, they were organized among them to observe and locate all the necessary details for later recreation with the Minecraft program. They worked as a team, contributing ideas and distributing roles to achieve a faithful result to reality.
In less than three months, students between 8 and 12 years old managed to place more than 100,000 Minecraft blocks to recreate the natural space and the different unevenness of the ski slopes of the Cebolled Circus.
This project was inspired by the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the San Isidro ski resort, a milestone that has provided wealth and value to the entire region. The station is not only a tourist attraction, but also maintains numerous jobs that contribute to the sustainability of this small rural school.
