In his social networks, Shakira shared details of his arrival at the gala, where he showed himself in a bus -type alms with the designer and other celebrities. The designer, who has dressed figures such as Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Kate Middleton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Demi Moore and Zoe Saldaña, began her academic training at the Jesuit San Javier de Katmandú school. Subsequently, he graduated in Hotel Administration from the National Council of Hotel Administration, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition of New Delhi, in India, where he discovered his passion for fabrics and colors, inspired by Bollywood’s influence. This interest led him to study at the National Fashion Technology Institute, which marked the beginning of his design career.

Before consolidating as one of the most prominent names of fashion, Gurung worked as a stylist for more than seven years in Australia and the United Kingdom. In 1999, he moved to New York to enroll in the prestigious Parsons school, where he perfected his skills. During this time, he conducted practices in Donna Karan and later worked with Bill Blass, where he came to occupy the position of creative director. In February 2009, he decided to found his own firm, which debuted at New York Fashion Week, quickly consolidating as a reference in the industry.
