Ticketmaster launches warning for Bad Bunny concerts

Mexico City, May 17 (El Universal) .- In Mexico, the members of the Z and Millennial generation, that is, between 25 and 40 years of age, account for 50% of tickets that are sold for mass shows, such as Shakira type concerts and the Tecate Emblema, as well as in theater.

This according to Alejandro Ordaz, Marketing Director at Ticketmaster, the main company for the sale of tickets in the national territory.

“The two groups are having the greatest contribution in purchase of tickets, between them they represent almost half of the tickets sold; the rest is sprayed between audiences of more than 45, 50 and 60 years. Of course, these distributions change event by event, but they are the average,” says the Executive.

Already in gender term, says Ordaz, both men and women buy for some entry for a show.

“Of course we only have information that he buys, we cannot know if the man who bought, for example, did it for the bride who in the end attended, but in general it is 50-50 on that subject,” he says.

So far from 2025, Shakira is being the queen in the speed with which the tickets for her concerts were acquired.

“He had 11 presentations and then added more dates. That kind of acts shows us the reflection of how important Mexico is. I would say that everything that is stadium shows has more prone to sell in an accelerated way, but the industry in the country is having a very healthy level of interest, for example, it is a success ‘The lion king’ in theater, also in sports events,” he says.

Alert consumers

For almost three years Ticketmaster innovated in the digital ticket and the virtual row, with the aim of ending bad practices when entering a show and making the experience for the buyer more pleasant.

The digital ticket is changing its bar code every 15 seconds, so it is useless that someone takes a screenshot of another user or carries an entrance to PDF. In this way they have scanned in past events, more than 15 million tickets.

And the virtual row is dosing the entrance of the interested parties, because otherwise there would be thousands of people asking for the same place. The duration in the row depends on the buyer that enters before, as it may not have the bank card next door or be undecided from the places to choose from.

“The rotation in the bar code guarantees that another person cannot enter, although someone for the emotion of having a ticket, shares a screenshot in their networks, because it changes every 15 seconds. Already to enter the show you can enter the app and there grab the ticket so that they scan it or, we know that perhaps already in the stadium the internet leave (of the ticket) works without having behind the Internet, “he explains.

The sale of Bad Bunny tickets for its concert next December, is how it is operating.

Ordaz calls people, who cannot acquire their ticket by official route, do not be fooled in social media groups.

“There are those who abuse people’s passion and say they have a ticket that sell them. People get into social media groups looking for or saying what they have. Our recommendation is not to do so, there are many people victim of a collective euphoria to which they are bad practices. What we do are campaigns of awareness and information for fans where they are notified of the risks of acquiring tickets away from an official channel.”
