Tina Knowles, the mother of singer Beyoncé, reveals that she suffers from breast cancer

Los Angeles (USA), APR 23 (EFE) .- Tina Knowles, the writer and mother of the pop diva Beyoncé, has revealed that he suffers from breast cancer and that he met the news after having forgotten to make a mammogram that he had scheduled.

Speaking to People magazine, the author of “Matriarch”, (Matriarch), 71, says that “it is important not to neglect mammograms” and advises all women to make them as a form of prevention.

Knowles, mother of the Superstar Beyoncé, 43, and Solange, 38, was surprised last July when, according to her, doctors detected breast cancer in stage 1 in her left bosom.

The news came shortly after she and Beyoncé launched her line of hair care and while she was finishing writing “matriarch”, according to the magazine.

“I hesitated to share that experience (in the book) because I am very reserved. But I decided to do it because I think it contains many lessons for other women,” he says.

“And I think, as women, sometimes we are so busy and so busy, but you have to test. Because if I had not done it in time, I shudder in thinking about what could have happened to me.”

In fact, Knowles herself did not make programmed mammography. “I forgot that I did not go to do the test two years before what I should,” he says, “because the Covid arrived, they called me and canceled me, and they told me: ‘We will call you when we do tests again.’ And I thought I had already done it. So you can’t play with that.”

At the end of last year, Knowles underwent surgery to remove the tumor and a chest reduction. “I’m very well,” he says. “Without cancer and very lucky that God would allow me to detect it in time.” EFE
