Tina Knowles was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
The 71 -year -old matriarch, mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, had not undergone a routine mammogram and was stunned when doctors discovered a breast cancer in stage 1 in the left chest last July, shortly after her and the singer of ‘Texas Hold’ Em ‘launched their hair care line, Cecred.
He told People magazine: “I forgot that I did not do the test from two years before what I thought because the Covid arrived and they called me and canceled me and they told me, we will call you when we start to test again. And I thought I had done it. So you can’t play with that. It is important not to neglect mammograms.”
Tina underwent surgical intervention to remove the tumor and a breast reduction at the same time, and now is well.
He said: “I am very good. Free of cancer and incredibly blessed because God allowed me to detect it in time. I am healthier, as better and I have lost weight.”
Tina hopes to inspire other women, as well as encourage them to submit to periodic breast reviews when they are invited.
He pointed out: “I did not know that there was a stadium 0. I could have detected it in stadium 0 if I had not skipped the mammography. I want to show people who can go through that and continue living. I want to give hope to people. What scares me now is not to make the most of every day I have left in this life.”
Tina has shared her story in her new “Matriarch ‘memoir, although she had doubts about it.
He pointed out: “It was hard for me to decide if I would share that trip in the book because I am very reserved. But I decided to share it because I think it contains many lessons for other women. And I think, as women, sometimes we are so busy and so absorbed and running from one side to another, but you must do the test. Because if I had not done the test soon, I shudder to think what could have happened to me.”
In the book, Tina detailed how his daughters took the news.
He wrote: “Beyoncé took it well, staying positive, and I could feel his accelerated mind, concentrating on this as a task that approaches with precision. Solange said: ‘Mom, we will take care of this.'”
With the couple, along with Kelly Rowland and her niece Angie Beyinch by her side, Tina knew she was well supported.
He wrote: “My girls became my team.”
It was not discovered that Tina had breast cancer genes, although her ex -husband, Beyoncé and Solange’s father, Mathew Knowles, has also previously exceeded a breast cancer in stage 1 and has declared that she has the BRCA2 genetic mutation, which increases the risk of suffering from the disease.
