Tourist will receive psychiatric treatment after incident at Quebradillas hotel

Agents assigned to the district of Quebradillas today issued an order for a tourist, who was staying at the Hotel Guajataca, in Quebradilla, to receive compulsory mental health treatment under Law 408 of Puerto Rico, after several altercations with the administration.

According to the investigation, the woman, who is a resident of the state of South Carolina, had been staying there since September 2024 and stopped paying for her stay.

Agent David González directed the hotel administration to request an eviction or eviction order from the court, but they called the barracks again because the woman assumed a hostile attitude, allegedly saying expletives to the guests and employees.

On that occasion, agent Samuel Curbelo guided management to request an order for involuntary admission to a hospital to receive mental health treatment, which was issued by the judge. Dinorah Martin Hau.

State Medical Emergency Personnel with the support of the police transported her to a hospital this morning

In addition, efforts were made with the Family Department to locate a family member who is in their care.
