MYSTERIES

Toviggino put an end to the mystery: Federal A 2025 will have 38 teams and there will be no invitations

While the semifinals of the Regional Amateur are being played in the different regions and in the Cuyo Region, Sportivo Desamparados and Atlético Unión are looking for a place in the final, there was finally an end to the rumors that spoke of adding 4 more promotions for Federal A .

The president of the AFA Federal Council Pablo Ariel Toviggino indicated that the Federal A Tournament will have some variants but will maintain the same format as last year with the participation of 38 clubs. There will be two direct promotions to the Primera Nacional, four relegations, although it is estimated that there could be six teams, and that it will begin on March 16.

After the announcements that appeared on social networks about a new competition with more clubs and the possibility of promotions for eight teams in the Federal Amateur Regional Tournament, the boss and current treasurer of AFA Pablo Toviggino stated for the first time: “The same competition will be played with last year’s format with the participation of 38 clubs. Of course there are already groups based on geographical proximity,” he expressed in a consultation with the Santiago portal ABC.

“No changes need to be made. It is a captivating tournament in every sense where federalism is the common denominator in the project that we are working on from the Federal Council and AFA, for the interior of the country. There will be two direct promotions to the First National, and 4 to 6 relegations are evaluated,” Toviggino specified.

It was also established that the contest will begin in March, on the 16th, where the modifications and planning of the contest will be officially presented in the coming days.
