Tribeca will show Becky G documentary and Miley Cyrus visual album in his most musical year

New York, Apr 16 (EFE) .- The Tribeca Festival announced today the film premieres that will host in its most musical edition to date, next June, and that include a documentary about Mexican singer Becky G, a visual album by Miley Cyrus and works on Billy idol, Depeche Mode or Metallica.

The event, co -founded in 2001 by actor Robert De Niro as an independent film festival after the 11S attacks in New York, is now one of the great appointments of the circuit and has received a record of candidacies, about 13,500, of which 118 tapes have been selected, according to a statement.

The organization, which described Tribeca as “the main destination of the documentaries about music,” revealed that one of those documentaries is ‘Rebecca (Aka Becky G)’, in which the Latin singer explores her “roots” for her “most ambitious project”, an album with which he debuts in the Mexican regional genre.

Also highlights the visual album ‘Something Beautiful’, a “unique pop opera with thirteen new songs” by Miley Cyrus, which also serves as director, screenwriter and producer with other artists.

The long list of documentaries about musical stars gives for all tastes; It begins with ‘Billy Joel: and so it Goes’, a tape on the trajectory of the New York singer that opens the festival, and passes through Crows Counting, Culture Club, Billy Idol, Eddie Vedder, Metallica, Depeche Mode, Wizkid or Ty Dolla Sign.

However, the selection of films addresses other issues, especially politicians, and an example is the documentary of Clausura, ‘Yanuni’, co -produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, who follows the indigenous leader Juma Xipaia in his struggle to protect the ancestral lands of his people in the Brazilian Amazon.

Among the Hollywood actors who star in the new batch of premieres, and their red carpets, are the couple formed by Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, together on the screen for the first time in 20 years in ‘Tow: The Best You Can’, next to Rose Byerne, Demi Lovato and Octavia Spencer.

Also Orlando Bloom and Bryce Dallas Holward, in ‘Deep Cover; Lucy Liu, in ‘Rosemead’; Bryan Cranston, in ‘Everything’s Going to Be Great’; or Alexandra Daddario, in ‘A Tree Fell in the Woods’.

Other well -known actors have decided to join films as producers, such as George Clooney, in ‘Survival Ohio State’, about the struggle for the justice of victims of sexual abuse, or Amy Schumer, in ‘Room to Move’, about the dancer and choreographer Jenn Freeman.

The Tribeca Festival, in its 24th edition, will begin on June 4 and covers, in addition to film premieres, talks about the sector, immersive experiences or video games.
