New York (EFE).- The Administration of US President Donald Trump fired at least 17 inspectors general of federal agencies, whose job was to independently supervise and supervise the Government.

The information, which was echoed by the American media, is in line with the position on these inspectors general that Trump already outlined during his inauguration events and has already been qualified by members of the Democratic party – such as Chuck Schumer, leader of the Senate minority – of “possible violation of federal laws.”

SHOULD HAVE NOTIFIED IT TO CONGRESS

And, although the inspectors general can be fired by the president, this can only happen after a communication to Congress in the previous 30 days providing detailed reasoning for the reason for their dismissal.

“Inspectors general are expected to be independent of political pressure, independent of the head of the agency, and to make sure what law is followed and money is spent appropriately, and there should be no political pressure against their work,” he said. Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said in a statement.

He added: “There may be good reason to fire inspectors general. We need to know if so. “I would like to receive more explanations from President Trump.”

Current law also mandates that any inspector general who might take over must come from within the inspector general community, although the White House is not expected to follow through and even seek a replacement.
