Trump vows to reveal drone mystery one day after taking office
President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to release a detailed report on the drone sightings that have raised alarm in New Jersey and other states. At an event with Republican governors at Mar-a-Lago the previous week, Trump declared: “They fly over Bedminster a lot. It is ridiculous that they are not telling them what is happening with the drones.”

Trump assured that the report will be available shortly after taking office on January 20: “I’m going to give you a report on drones about a day after the administration takes office. We will tell you exactly what you know.” The president-elect also expressed surprise at the Biden administration’s lack of transparency on this issue. “They don’t want to talk about it, and no one knows why,” he said. “I hope it is not an enemy, but we will know on the 21st.”
During the event, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin backed Trump’s concerns and reported that his state has also seen incursions into safe airspace: “At Quantico we have the largest naval base in the world… and we have had drone incursions for many years.” two consecutive years. We still don’t know why. “I think that is absolutely unacceptable.”
Jeff Landry, Governor of Louisiana, shared a similar incident that occurred in his state: “While we were dealing with a terrorist attack in New Orleans, there were drones flying over our nuclear reactors in Louisiana. We brought that attention to the FAA, but it’s on some bureaucrat’s desk, and that’s real.”
Trump stressed that the lack of answers is worrying and promised immediate action: “It’s very strange that they don’t talk about it. They have to give me a little time for the inauguration, but shortly after we will give you a report about it.”
The FBI, for its part, has investigated approximately 5,000 reports of drone sightings, of which only 100 were considered credible.
Federal officials have insisted that drones do not pose a threat to national security or the public. Trump was skeptical: “I don’t understand why they’re not talking about this. “It is something that affects the security of our country.”
Trump also noted that several states have asked for more authority to mitigate these types of incursions: “We have to make sure that states have the resources necessary to deal with these situations. “This should not sit on a desk unresolved.”
With this promise of transparency, the president-elect aims to dispel doubts and provide clear answers about the origin and purpose of drones. “This is not just a curiosity. “It is a matter of national security, and the public has the right to know what is happening,” he concluded.
