On February 8, the media and portals of Magangué reported the appearance of a body in a state of decomposition in waters of the Magdalena River, at the height of the Girardot neighborhood.

The body was rescued by fishermen, who warned the authorities and then transferred to a morgue of legal medicine to determine their identity and more details of their death, especially to find their relatives.

Units of the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 17 of Bolívar communicated that in the corregimiento of Santa Fe, jurisdiction of the municipality of Magangué, in the waters of the Magdalena River, they found another lifeless body of an unidentified person and that is in advance State of decomposition.
They added that, apparently, this body was coming down from the Cauca River, where it was seen by inhabitants of the sector that failed to rescue the remains. Due to their status they failed to determine if he was a man or woman and what wounds his body had.
After the information of the finding, the body was taken to legal medicine of the municipality of Sincelejo, Sucre, for the respective necropsy and identification.
It is worth mentioning that a terrible and violent phenomenon occurs in the waters of the Magdalena. For decades it has been used by criminal organizations to disappear human remains. After killing them, they throw them to disappear, but they float.
