Donald Trump’s government plans to start transferring migrants in military planes from the pass to the base of the US Navy in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Tuesday, according to three US officials with knowledge of the plans.

The White House Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, confirmed the measure, telling Fox Business that “the first United States flights to Guantanamo Bay with illegal migrants are underway.”

The decision is a change in the way that the United States treats the people to play. For a long time, the US government has retained migrants that it collected at sea in a Guantanamo Bay installation, but has not transferred to the base to migrants from the United States.

The measure is also a significant symbol of President Trump’s attempts to cut the passage to legal and illegal immigration, a key pillar of his campaign to the presidency and part of his government’s promise. Last week, Trump ordered the Department of Defense and the Department of National Security to enlist to expand Guantanamo in order to allocate it to the arrest of migrants.

“We have 30,000 beds in Guantanamo to stop the worst illegal foreign criminals who threaten the American people,” Trump said. “Some of them are so bad that we don’t even trust that countries retain them because we don’t want them to come back, so we will send them to Guantanamo.”
