Three Venezuelan citizens were arrested in Salt Lake County, Utah, following a police investigation that uncovered an alleged vehicle theft and vehicle identification number (VIN) fraud ring. The operation was triggered after a stolen Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD truck was put up for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

The detainees were identified as Robert García Aldana, 31 years old, Neill Ramos Oliveros, 29 years old, and Wilger Flores Gómez, 30 years old. Herriman police, in charge of the investigation, located the truck near 15000 S Academy Parkway, where it was found that the VIN had been tampered with. A chassis VIN check revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Texas.
The police operation included surveillance, during which it was observed how the truck was entered into a garage at a residence in Herriman before being transferred to a pre-established point of sale. According to court documents, Flores Gómez was driving the stolen truck, while García Aldana and Ramos Oliveros followed him in a second vehicle, allegedly acting as lookouts.
A search at the residence located on Pure Nirvana Lane yielded significant results. Officers found equipment suspected to be used for falsifying vehicle titles and VIN tags, including a specialized printer and film paper. Additionally, multiple counterfeit Utah vehicle titles and VIN tags were seized.
