What day should the clocks be adjusted throughout the country?

The authorities have confirmed the upcoming implementation of the summer time in the United Statesan annual practice that affects most states and whose main objective is to make the most of daylight during the warmer months.

Time change in the United States

  • Daylight saving time will officially begin on Sunday, March 9, 2025.

Exact time of change: At 2:00 a.m., clocks must be moved forward one hour, making it 3:00 a.m.

Duration of summer time: This adjustment will be in effect until Sunday, November 2, 2025, when the clocks will be turned back one hour to return to standard time.

The objective of this measure is to encourage energy savings by maximizing the use of natural light, especially during spring and summer afternoons.

More hours of light in the afternoon: This benefits outdoor activities and commerce.

Energy savings: Although its effectiveness is debated, the original idea is to reduce energy consumption by reducing the need for artificial lighting.
