After sweeping the world box office and conquering both musical fans and new audiences, WICKED It already has a confirmed date for streaming in Latin America.
The ambitious film adaptation of Broadway’s successful musical, directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, was one of the great phenomena of cinema in 2024combining visual show, emotion and a new look at the story behind The Oz Wizard.
Now, Those who could not see it on the big screen – or who want to relive it from home – can enjoy it through the Max platform on July 11.
The story of WICKED It narrates the origins of Elphaba, an intelligent young woman and emerald green skin who, after being misunderstood by society, becomes the dreaded western witch of the west. The film remembers its passage through the University, where Elphaba engages in a complex friendship with Glinda, a young charismatic destined to be the good witch of the North. Set in the world of Oz, the film explores how prejudices, power and truth transform their lives, long before the arrival of Dorothy.
