Among the undergrowth, covered with jute bags and plastic covers, they found the body of a man of approximately 25 years old, at kilometer 2 of the perimeter road of the canton Saint Luciaprovince of Guayas. The discovery was made at 10:30 this Wednesday, January 15, 2025 by three cowboys, due to the barking of two dogs that accompanied them in their herding task.

The locals reported the incident to the canton’s Community Police detachment. The agents of the Salitre Violent Deaths Unit (Dinased) and Criminalistics who came to carry out the procedure confirmed that the victim did not have identification documents.
The body had a wound caused by a firearm projectile on the forehead, signs of blows in various parts of the body and apparent signs of torture. The man was wearing a gray T-shirt, blue boxer-type underwear, and his black cloth pants were pulled down to his knees.

Investigators presume that the victim was murdered elsewhere and his body abandoned in this desolate area during the early hours of the morning.
By matching fingerprints, the authorities are trying to identify this boy, who apparently is not from Saint Lucia, since in the last 48 hours there have been no reports of missing people in this town.
Until noon this Wednesday, the police continued with the investigation at the scene of the discovery. An official statement on the event has not yet been issued.
